ADRIAAN LAUWERS
EARLY PLUCKED INSTRUMENTS

IN A NUTSHELL
Adriaan Lauwers (BE) is a professional musician, specialized in ancient plucked instruments. He acquired his skills and knowledge from Rolf Lislevand at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon. In addition, he followed master classes with Hopkinson Smith, Paul O'Dette and Vincent Dumestre.
As a soloist or ensemble member he has played concerts in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Croatia, Italy, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands - including on stages of BOZAR, Amuz, MAFestival Bruges, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Musikfestspiele Potsdam, Tage Alter Musik Regensburg and Theater an der Wien.
He has already collaborated on several recordings and regularly plays live recordings for radio, such as for Klara, where he was one of the Twintigers (Next Generation). As a soloist or with his ensemble Delta, he tries to revive the image of the virtuoso, singing, improvising and composing musician of the 17th century.
Besides a heart for music, Adriaan also has a profound love for foreign languages and the smell of coffee in the morning. He likes cooking recipes by Ottolenghi, traveling on foot with a backpack, spending time in nature or just hanging out with friends.
